This is an original hand colored tinted map from circa 1855 titled "Nebraska and Kansas". This piece is published by J.H. Colton & Co. No. 172 William St. New York. The bottom reads, "Entered according to Act of Congress in the Year 1855 by J.H. Colton & Co. in the Clerks Office of the District Court of the United States for the Southern District of New York." It is No. 50. Included on the back are print descriptions of the Kansas, Nebraska, and Indian territories. This is a very early rare map showing a beautiful condition, framed in a 22.5" x 18" wood frame (some wear for age).
