Hospital - Where resident: Tombstone - Age: 20 - Married: Yes - Sex: Female - Nationality: Mexican - Direct Cause of Death: Tuberculosis - Contributing cause of death: Syphillis - Duration of disease: about 13 mo. in hospital - Date of Death: Feb 10th-1909 - Place of Burial: Tombstone - Undertaker: Jarbell - John E. Bacon: Attending Physician. John Elmer Bacon was a politician from Arizona who served a single term in the Arizona state senate during the 2nd Arizona State Legislature. He was a doctor and surgeon who was an early proponent of Joseph Lister's theories on antiseptic measures. He was a charter member of the American College of Surgeons, and helped found the Southwest Medical and Surgical Association, and was president of the Arizona Medical Association. He was also one of the founders of the Arizona State League, a professional baseball league. The condition of this pair of death certificates is well preserved with no obvious signs of damage with some browning to the certificates consistent with age but otherwise shows a well preserved condition.
