This is a fabulous collection of striking, circa 1939-1955 Montana Prison Made License Plate matched sets (five matched sets) as well as several other Montana license plates. The lot features a set or pair of 1939 Montana Prison Made license plates, black background with bright orange lettering. The second pair is from 1940 and shows the iconic blue background and white lettering. The third pair is from 1942 and shows a black background with white lettering. The fourth pair is from 1951 and shows a blue background with yellow lettering. The fifth pair is from 1955 and shows a red back ground with white lettering. This license plate also features, "The Treasure State" at the top. The sixth pair is from 1973 and features a light green background with white lettering and reads, "Big Sky Country" at the top. The seventh and final pair is from 1976 and shows the iconic Montana outline with a white background and blue lettering. They show good condition overall with slight wear present from their age and use over the years, but no signs of major damage is noted. They measure from 6" L x 12" W to 5 5/8" L x 13 3/4" W. They have a collective weight of 5 pounds and 14 ounces.
