Featured in this lot is this Blackfoot tacked leather and trade knife circa 19th century from the Blackfoot Native American Indians of the Northern Plains of Montana. The piece is from a Montana collection and is comprised of harness saddle leather in classic Blackfoot pattern. The belt sheath and wide belt are adorned with brass covered metal trade tacks with a solid brass buckle having a wonderful crackled worn original patina finish. The trade knife shows a thick clip point blade adorned with the "Snake Brand" Sheffield mark and a snake mark with a full tang and wooden handle. The condition of this Blackfoot tacked leather and trade knife is well preserved with some patina to the brass tacks and to the leather with the trade knife showing a heavy patina consistent with age but otherwise shows a well preserved condition. The measurements of the belt is 37 1/2" x 2 3/8" and the sheath and knife overall condition is 14 1/4" x 4 1/4". Blackfoot / Blackfeet.
