Featured in this lot is this Central Plains women's belt sheath and knife circa 19th century. The knife sheath features a wonderfully and professionally crafted Indian tanned hide and trade seed bead construction that shows coloration of sky blue, chalk white, Cheyenne pink, translucent red, medium red, black, and medium blue. The sheath shows a drop and is sinew and trade twine sewn. The trade knife is made by Imperial with a bone handle and a curved blade. The condition of this Central Plains Indian sheath and knife is preserved with some wear to the some of the beaded area but otherwise shows a preserved condition. The overall measurements of this knife and sheath is 9 3/4" x 3".
Provenance: From a prominent ex-Bozeman private collection who purchased the majority of his collection from Cowan's, Skinner, Bonhams, Morphy's, Sotheby's, March in Montana, North American Auction and other well revered auction houses.
