For your consideration is a superb, 19th Century, Flemish Baroque style carved throne chair. The chair features an intricately carved top rail with a crown in the center; the crown is flanked by two cherubs and scroll work. A carved stretcher on the front features a cherub flanked by scroll work. The chair also features gently curved arms with carved foliage, carved seat frame, and turned legs, stretchers, and arm supports finish out the style of this grand chair. The chair is marked on the bottom in two places, "Made in Belgium H.T.M." It was not determined what "H.T.M.” stands for. This chair is in excellent condition, though it is noted that the chair was made with a cane back and seat, which are both missing. The chair measures 24 1/2" W x 25" D x 47 3/4" T.
