Featured in this lot we have a signed alabaster tiger statue titled "Tiger in Fury" by Emile Rouff and originates from the late 19th century. Emile Rouff is a French sculptor known for his pieces depicting animals and wild life. This sculpture features a growling tiger standing on a stone outcropping. The tiger shows wonderful character with detailed muscle structure. The front of the piece shows a metal plaque reading "Tigre en Furie - Par E. Rouff - De La Societe Des Artistes Francias" translating to "Tiger in Fury - By E. Rouff - From Francias Artists Society". The back of the statue is marked "Gindreau" which is the name of a upscale French restaurant. The tiger shows good condition for its age with some wear and discoloration in places. The piece measures 17 1/2" long by 6 1/2" wide and 12 3/4" tall.
