Featured in this lot is this first edition called A Trooper with Custer by E.A. Brininstool circa 1925 from the ex-collection of the C.M. Russell Museum and John Kleinschmidt. The book is a first edition and was published in 1925 and has been inscribed and signed by the author. The book tells the firsthand account of William Slaper who served under Custer in the 7th Cavalry. The collector who owned it took detailed notes 9 total pages of the contents of the book and are features in the rear of the book and shows the collector/ museum number in the back as follows: ODell 1396-87. The condition of this book is preserved with some wear to the outside spine of the book and shows loose pages inside cover to cover with browning to the pages consistent with the age of the book. The measurements of this book is 7 1/2" x 5 3/8". The collective weight of this book is 12oz. Provenance: From the John Kleinschmidt collection which was on loan to the C.M. Russell Museum from 1987 to 1993 and included in the "The Cowboy West: 100 Years of Photography 1992-1993 exhibit.
