For your consideration are four American Silver collecting books from various authors circa 1948 to 1979. These books give comprehensive lists, write ups, markings and illustrations throughout to help identify silver pieces. The books collectively feature over 600 black & white illustrations. The books in this collection are as follows - Historic Silver of the Colonies and it's Makers" by Francis Hill Bigelow (1948), "Collecting American 19th Century Silver" by Katherine Morrison McClinton (1968), "A Directory of American Silver, Pewter and Silver Plate" by Ralph M. and Terry H. Kovel (1972) and "Silver in American Life: Selections from the Mabel Brady Garvan and Other Collections at Yale University" edited by Barbara McLean Ward & Gerald W.R. Ward (1979). The books show good condition overall with wear present from their age and use over the years, but no signs of major damage is noted. The books measures from 7 5/8" L x 5 1/4" W x 1 1/4" D to 10 15/16" L x 8 1/2" W x 1/2" D. They have a collective weight of 6 pounds and 14 ounces.
