Featured in this lot is this collection of memorabilia and ephemera pertaining to E.B Gage, Successful Tombstone Mine Operator with cabinet card from the S.L. Hart Estate; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. In this collection is is an archive that includes ephemera with a Western Union Telegraph to Eliphalet Butler Gage asking him if he had deposited with Campbell yet. The second is a original Pima County Bank check paid to E.B. Gage in the amount of $50.00. The second to last is a Sohuman & Allison of E.B. Gage's nephew Arthur R. Gage taken in 1896, this cabinet card is from the Estate of S.L. Hart another prominent member of Tombstone during that period and includes an original museum tag that reads as follows: E.B. Gage's Nephew Arthur R. Gage taken in 1896 from the S.L Hart Estate. The last item is an authentic museum copy of correspondence of acceptance of the position of Director of the Tombstone Consolidated Mines company in 1903 by E.B. Gage; and comes with a museum tag that reads as follows: E.B. Gage - Eliphalet Butler Gage was a very prominent figure in Tombstone's mining history. He was the manager for the Contention Mine, which was probably one of the largest mines in Tombstone. he was friends with Wyatt Earp and was one of the men who paid Wyatt's and Doc Holiday's bond after the "OK Corral" street fight. He stayed around the Tombstone area well in to the 1900's investing in and running mines. The condition of this collection of E.B. Gage memorabilia and ephemera collection is well preserved with no obvious signs of damage with some browning to the ephemera consistent with age but otherwise shows a well preserved condition.
