Featured in this lot is this collection of Cochise County Bank notes or checks from Tombstone, Arizona Territory circa 1887 to 1888; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. There are a total of ten bank notes or checks in this collection. The first check is dated March 11th, 1887 paid to the order of J.A. Folger H and signed by Mrs. Lionel Jacobs. The next check is dated march 21st, 1887 and paid to the order of Frances E. Hoskins and signed by Mrs. Lionel Jacobs as cashier. The next check is dated July 3rd 1888 paid to the order of Geo N. Kent (agent) and signed by Mrs. Lionel Jacobs. The next check is dated March 21st, 1888 paid to the order of C.C. Bank and signed by the cashier on duty. The next check is dated Jan. 5th, 1888 paid to the order of John C. Easton J.O. and signed by Mrs. Lionel Jacobs Trustee. The fourth to last check is dated May 15th, 1888 and paid to the order of Transfer to S/C and signed by cashier N.C. nelson. The third to last check is dated July 7th, 1888 and paid to the order of Geo N. Kent (Agent) and signed by Mrs. Lionel Jacobs. the next check is dated Aug. 29th, 1888 and paid to the order of First National Bank (Denver Love) and signed by Mrs. Lionel Jacobs. The second to last check is dated Jul. 23, 1888 and paid to the order of Smith & Thompson and signed by the cashier out of El Paso, Texas. The last check in this collection is dated Sept. 24th, 1888 and paid to the order of Smith & Thompson and signed by the cashier in El Paso, Texas. The condition of this collection of Cochise County Bank checks is well preserved with some small tears and browning to the checks consistent with age but otherwise shows a well preserved condition. The measurements of this check collection ranges from 3 3/8" x 8 1/8" to 3 1/4" x 8 1/2".
