Featured in this lot is this linen Real Estate and Personal Property Auction Sale Sign circa 1897. The advertisement sign features a wonderfully and professionally crafted linen and wooden frame construction that shows a auction sale sign from 1897 for John J. Grunewald Real Estate Sale and Personal Property auction sale on Tuesday, Oct.5, '97 at 10 o'clock A.M sharp. The Auctioneer completing the sale is name Henry Van Tiger out of Marysville, CA. The sale sign reads as follows: Auction Sale of Real Estate and Personal Property Tuesday, Oct. 5, '97 At 10 o'clkock A.M. Sharp, the Property of John J. Grunewald, Deceased On the premisis, now belonging to H.J. Grunewald amnd Charles Grunewald, situated two miles north of Pleasant Grove and seven miles east of Nicolaus on the Sacramento road, Sutter County, Cal., and adjoining the well known Glenn Ranch. The sign goes on to list the items in the sale including 560 acres an additional 300 acres, a two story house and barns, a total of 17 mules, 17 horses, 4 milk cows, 290 head of stock sheep, 4 sacks of wool, 40 head of stock hogs, 4 sows; and to finish the listing a plethora of farming equipment and tools along with the contents of the house listed at the end... The condition of this framed canvas advertisement is well preserved with some wear to the original canvas and tot he wooden frame but otherwise is in well preserved condition. The measurements of this framed advertisement is 29" x 20" and the visible advertisement measures 26 1/4" x 17 1/8".
