This is an original circa 1915-1920's Deputy Marshal Tombstone, Arizona badge from the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum. The badge is hallmark / stamped on the back, "L.A. STAMP & STY. CO. L.A. CAL" and was made by the Los Angeles Stamp and Stationary Company, originally founded in 1884 as the Los Angeles Rubber Stamp Co. The badge exhibits a classic six-point star shap with slight convex domed body with stamped "DEPUTY MARSHAL TOMBSTONE" along the center with black lettering and six spherical round ends on the star points. The badge was recovered on the stage road between Tombstone and Tuscon and displayed in the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum. The collector noted the badge as being circa 1885-1890, but more than likely dates to circa 1915-1920's. The brass copper badge shows some slight green patina from oxidation and normal wear, appears to be complete with no major damages. Measures overall 2 5/8-inches across. Comes with a museum / collector tag (only the badge and tag are included in the lot). Museum number: TT-19.
