Featured in this lot is this circus advertisement wrapped pillows from Design Legacy circa 1950's. There are four pillows in this collection all with circus advertisement from the 1950s. The first one is Tattooed Girl - Alive; which consists of the advertisement for Artoria Gibbons (1893-1985) was a world-renowned tattooed lady who performed in circuses and fairs for over 50 years. She was one of the last tattooed ladies to perform, and continued to perform well into her eighties. The second is "The Man Who Knows" who consists of Alexander who was a famous fortune teller with the famous wrapped head. The third pillow is of the "Clown Butt" which is an iconic image from the 1950's advertisement for many clown artists. The last is of "Dolly Dimple The Fattest Woman in the World" who was a real person and was considered the most beautiful fat woman in the world. The condition of this collection of circus pillows preserved with some some wear consistent with there age and a couple tears in the bigger two pillows but otherwise they are in preserved condition. The measurements of these pillows range from 17 1/4" x 18 1/2" to 22 3/4" x 23 1/4". The collective weight of this collection of pillows is 13lb 14oz.
