Featured in this lot is are two Colt Brass Powder Flasks, circa late 19th century and late 20th century. The original 19th century Colt Walker or Dragoon sized .44 cal percussion pistol style flasks featured "Colts Patent" embossed on the raised curved banner at the bottom of the flask as well as stamped on the ball storage compartment door at the top, and it has iron set screws holding the end cap to the body instead of brass. Both sides are embossed with the "trophy of arms" design: stand of flags, drum, cannon, mortar, crossed rifles, crossed pistols, and sword. Triangle shaped strap hangers are on either side. The 1970s Colt Brass Powder Flask features a slotted locking spout, external lever and spring for releasing powder. Front face embossed with flags, banners, cannon and stacked cannon balls, crossed rifles and pistols, anchors, sword and pike. Both flasks are in very nice preserved condition, slight pitting and dents noted. Rich patina observed. Larger flask measures 8.75"H x 3.75"W x 1.25"D, smaller is 7.75"H x 3.125"W x 1.25"D. Combined weight is 1lb.
