Featured in this lot is a Colt Model 1849 bone grip cartridge conversion revolver chambered in .36 caliber. The revolver was manufactured by Colt in the 1860s. This single action revolver displays a 3 1/2" long round barrel, five shot cylinder, carved bone grips, brass trigger guard, and brass back strap. The grip shows carved bone with a leaf pattern on each side with the right side engraved with the initials "E.M.". The barrel is marked across the top in faded letters marking it with "COLT'S PT F. A. MFG. CO HARTFORD CT. U.S.A." with the side of the frame marked with the patent dates and "36 CAL". The cylinder shows faded carriage attack scene with the revolver showing cartridge conversions. Mechanically, this revolver shows good condition with proper cylinder rotation. The piece shows good condition overall with wear across the exterior due to age and use. The pistol weighs 1lbs 6oz.
