Included in this lot is a Colt Model 1851 Navy .36 percussion revolver. This Model 1851 features a 7 1/2" long octagonal barrel marked "ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW YORK CITY U.S. AMERICA." The cylinder originally came with a Naval Engagement scene but over the past 163 years a rich and deep patina has formed over the firearm. This revolver is chambered in .36 caliber black powder and has a six shot cylinder. The frame shows a serial number of "60804" which is a pre civil war manufacture date of 1856. The straight grain walnut grips, mellow yellow brass grip straps and trigger guard are in very good condition. The gun appears to be operational and only one of the six nipples shows signs of damage. The unaltered and un-cleaned revolver would be at home in the finest firearm, Civil War or Western collection. Serial Number: 60804. This firearm qualifies as an Antique, and does not require FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
