The lot features a hide and trade clothe doll with beadwork and a dentalium earrings from the Crow of the 19th Century. This small doll shows a hide construction with sinew and trade thread sewing, trade clothe silk, red stroud blanket dress accented by yellow and blue trade clothe and wonderful glass trade seed beadwork throughout. The beadwork shows greasy white heart Cheyenne pink, greasy blue, greasy yellow, chalk white along with pony beads of red white hearts. The piece shows silk accents and dentalium earrings. The piece has real human hair, an early attribute. Provenance: From a historic Eastern Montana American Indian Collection, where the piece was found to be an authentic original, one of the finest collections of American Indian weaponry and antiquities in Montana. 8”L by 4.5”.
