Featured in this lot we have a Kevin Red Star serigraph titled 'Crow Husband and Wife'. Red Star was born in 1943 on the Crow reservation in south east Montana. He was born into a creative family and found painting and art at an early age. In the late 1960's he was chosen to be in the first group of students accepted into the Institute of American Indian Arts located in Santa Fe. He has since become a well known artist known for his paintings of Native Americans that are sought after by collector and gallery alike. The painting shows two Native Americans of the Crow tribe with the wife seated in the front with the husband standing behind her. Both of the figures show beautiful and colorful clothing. The piece shows wonderful detail in the clothes and faces of each individual. The piece is signed "Kevin Red Star" in the bottom right corner and marked "2/150" in the bottom left corner indicating that it is one of only 150 serigraphs of "Crow Husband and Wife" made. The piece is set with a red border and a simple gold colored frame. The serigraph is in good condition with a small crack in the glass in the bottom right side. The frame measures 30 1/4" wide by 39" tall.
