For your consideration is this circa 1915 De Laval porcelain enamel flange Cream Separator "Local Agency" sign. Gustaf de Laval, a Swede of French descent, developed machines in the 1870's for the dairy industry, including the first centrifugal milk-cream separator. He founded the De Laval Cream Separator Co. was founded in 1888. This sign would have hung at a local business that sold the De Laval cream separators. The double sided porcelain enamel sign shows a representation ot the separator with cream pouring into a bucket from one spout and milk pouring into a second bucket from another spout. The sign reads, "De Laval/ De Laval Separator Co. New York/ Local Agency. The sign is in good condition for its age. The sign measures 18" w x 26.5" t.
