The lot features a beautifully beaded buffalo bone riding quirt with nice early age from the Crow. The piece exhibits a carved and polished Buffalo / Bison bone with nice slightly yellow’d color having a metal pinned braided hide whip on the front and Indian hide tied wrist throng. The wrist throng shows thick Indian tanned hide and red stroud old clothe construction sewn with sinew like thread with a traditional geometric beadwork pattern seen on other Crow pieces. The wrist throng has an old glass pony bead border with beaded section in old glass trade seed beads with colors of greasy green, red white heart, light blue, greasy yellow, cobalt and chalk white. The whipping end shows a wrap of old red stroud trade clothe with banded beadwork that is matching. The piece is well kept and shows a nice early age. Measures overall 38-inches long, the bone by itself is 9.5-inches long.
