The lot features a fully top beaded hide snake effigy from the Montana Crow Native American Indians. The piece shows an Indian tanned hide construction with mineral brown / red dyed coloring being completely covered on the top half with all period correct glass trade seed beads. The beadwork shows colors of medium blue, black, chalk white, greasy amber and dark red. The piece shows a nice early age and unique thin cut fringe at the mouth and tail. Provenance: From one of the most prominent American Indian Collections in Billings, Montana where the set was found to be an authentic example. The snake measures 11”L with ends.
