The lot features an excellent fully beaded hide game ball from the Sioux Native American Indians and dating to the early 1900’s. The piece shows a hide construction with rich dark coloring which is covered entirely with pony glass trade seed beads in a geometric pattern showing a railroad stepped block design and two crosses showing a sky padre blue background with symbols in red and dark blue / cobalt. The piece is in very good condition with little to no bead loss and supple soft hide. Provenance: From one of the most prominent American Indian Collections in Billings, Montana where the set was found to be an authentic example. The ball measures 2.5” in diameter and approximately 8” in circumference.
