Featured in this lot is this Excavated Civil War Era M1860 ball ammunition and .36 cal Colt paper cartridges circa 1860's and were displayed in the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. There are a total of six ball ammunition and one empty box of .36 cal Colt paper cartridges in this collection. These artifacts were excavated and displayed with museum quality care and shows five smaller ball ammunition and one larger .50 cal ball ammunition in this collection and the box of paper cartridges is marked with a label on the front that reads as follows: Made of Hazard's Powder expressly for Col Colt's Patent - Revolving Belt Pistol. The collection comes complete with an original museum tag that reads as follows: .36 Colt combustible paper bullets in original box. The condition of this collection of cap and ball and paper cartridge box is well preserved with heavy white patina adorning the ball bullets and the paper cartridge has been opened and the ammunition used but otherwise shows a well preserved condition. The measurements of this collection range from 3/8" in diameter to 2 3/4"x 1 7/8". The collective weight 70.7g. G-172
