Featured in this lot is an Original Signed G. Harvey "Men of the American West", Limited Edition, 1988, #865/1250; cowboys riding their horses through the canyons. G. Harvey (born Gerald Harvey Jones, 1933-2017) was an internationally-known artist who painted scenes of turn-of-the-century America and Western sagas. His work was inspired by his grandfather's stories of living on the Texas Frontier and Harvey's upbringing in Central Texas, where he witnessed the trailblazing of longhorn cattle. Harvey's art is known for capturing the drama, light, and feeling of a moment. His work is in the collections of major corporations, museums, and American presidents. Whether it's a glistening turn-of-the-century city street scene, a breathtaking landscape, a Western or Civil War scene-each story G. Harvey tells is always abundantly clear. Unseen emotions such as courage, determination, faith, pride and compassion are remarkably conveyed with Harvey's stunning use of lighting and contrast. Signature on bottom right corner. Lithograph was published by Somerset House Publishing, C.O.A. included in reverse pocket. Good overall condition, double-matted wood frame exhibits damage to upper right corner area, scuffing noted on frame edges. Visible art measures 18"W x 32.75"L, frame is 26.5"W x 41"L x 1"D, weight is 8lb, 6oz.
