The lot features a fantastic set of 14K gold stud earrings with rare Tanzanite and Diamonds. Tanzanite Is a very rare precious gemstone that is only found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. Originally discovered in 1967 by Tiffany & Company who named the stone Tanzanite. These examples are unique due to their exceptional pleochroism (an optical phenomenon in which a stone has different colors when observed at different angles). The set shows a 14 karat white gold stud post back construction with oval modified brilliant cut natural Tanzanite stone at the center being prong set and surrounded by a halo bezel being set with natural Diamonds. The two oval Tanzanite stones show a weight of 2.60 carats with vivid violet blue deep coloring with fine eye clean transparent clarity. The set is set with a total of 48 round brilliant cut Diamonds with a weight of 0.23 carats. The earrings have a gold weight of 2.60 grams.
