The book covers the birth of the United States" (1776) to our Centennial Celebration in 1876. This is a important book for those readers who wish to know more about our national heritage and the early history of the United States. The book is in fair condition. There is some penciling in the front and back endpapers by the original owner; the pages are all in very good condition and the binding is tight. The front board is loose as the hinge is torn at the top and bottom. The leather on the spine is brittle and has been repaired. Gilt lettering on the spine. The book measures 8.25" x 11.25" x 2.25".
