Featured in this lot is this original desert landscape oil on canvas stretched on board painting by Gros Ventre artist White Crow circa 1951. The painting features a wonderfully and professionally crafted oil on canvas stretched on board construction that shows a desert landscape with butte's in the distance and a canyon leading up to them with sagebrush in the fore front of the painting. The artist signature is in the bottom right hand corner. The condition of this Gros Ventre oil painting is well preserved with no obvious signs of damage to the painting but shows some wear to the frame with chipping to the paint. The measurements of this framed painting is 14 1/2" x 18 1/4" and the visible artwork measures 11 1/2" x 15 1/4". The collective weight of this painting is 1lb 6oz. The painting comes with a museum tag that reads as follows: 1396-87 - O'dell.
Provenance: From the John Kleinschmidt collection which was on loan to the C.M. Russell Museum from 1987 to 1993 and included in the "The Cowboy West: 100 Years of Photography 1992-1993 exhibit.
