Featured in this lot is this cabinet card of Julius Conrad Lutgen with a High Wheel Bicycle from Harkness Gallery, Oakland circa 1870 to 1880's; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. The cabinet card features a wonderfully and professionally crafted construction that shows Mr. Lutgen posing in a traditional Penny Farthing Uniform with the cyclist cap and blouse with his pant legs tucked into his socks so they do not get caught up in the pedals. The front of the cabinet card is marked as follows: 556, 12th SA. - Hakness - East Oakland. The back of the cabinet card is a hand written genealogy of Julius Conrad Lutgen and reads as follows: dad, Julius Conrad Lutgen - father of Conrad J. Lutgen 1904 - grandfather of Richard C. Lutgen, Linda Merle Lutgen - married Wilhelmina Margerita Von Falkenstien. The condition of this Harkness cabinet card is well preserved with some wear to the rim of the cabinet card and shows aging and browning to the photograph consistent with age but otherwise shows a well preserved condition.
