Featured in this lot is this Hopi Indian lightening dancing wands circa 1960's. There are two dancing wands in this collection. The first is the smaller of the two in the style of a lightening rod with two heads and shows chicken feet patterns throughout the wand and shows coloration of red, turquoise, yellow, white, and black. The second of the dancing wands is the larger and shows the style of a lightening rod with two heads with arrows throughout the rod and shows coloration of white, and black. There is a lightning wand which is cut from wood in a zigzag shape to imitate that phenomenon of nature. It is carried by certain impersonators in dances devoted to rainmaking. The condition of this pair of dancing wands is preserved with some chipping and fading to the paint of the wands but otherwise shows a preserved condition. The measurements of this pair of dancing wands is 18 3/8" x 1 1/2" and the larger measures 24" x 2 1/2". The collective weight of this pair of dancing wands is 8oz.
