Featured in this lot is this Hubley Manufacturing Company painted cast iron race car toy from the 1920s-30s. The Hubley Manufacturing Company was an American producer of a wide range of cast-iron toys, door stops, and bookends. The first Hubley toys appeared in 1909 and were made of cast-iron, with themes that ranged from horse-drawn vehicles and different breeds of dogs, to tractors, steam shovels and guns. This race car has been painted red with white numbering on the front and white, rubber tires. A race car driver sits in the drivers seats and the front is marked with a white number 8. The wheels are in very good condition for their age, still white and soft with no cracks and spin with little effort applied. The car shows good condition overall with some cosmetic wear present such as slight oxidization and slight chipping and fading on the paint. No major signs of damage is noted. It measures 7" L x 2 5/8" W x 2" H and weighs 1 pound. Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. CH158
