Featured in this lot is this early, 1880s Huntley & Palmers Biscuits trading card. Huntley & Palmers is a British company of biscuit makers originally based in Reading, Berkshire. Formed by Joseph Huntley in 1822, the company became one of the world's first global brands and ran what was once the world's largest biscuit factory. This trading card would have come in a tin of biscuits after purchase. It reads, "Huntley & Palmers Reading & London Biscuits" in black lettering and shows one man on a high wheel bike, another man on a regular bike, and two women in the background riding regular bikes. the back is filled with various flavors of biscuits the company sells as well as an advertisement for the Paris Exhibition of 1878. The card shows good condition overall with slight wear present from its age and use over the years, but no major signs of damage is noted. It measures 4 1/2" L x 3" W and weighs under 6 ounces.
