Featured in this lot we have a J. Stevens Arms Co Tip Up single shot shotgun chambered in .44 shot gauge. This single shot shotgun was manufactured in the early 1900's by the J. Stevens Arms Company. The shotgun is chambered in .44 shot shell which is the predecessor to the .410 gauge. This shotgun displays a 22" long round barrel, walnut stock and front grip, lever tip up action, single action hammer, and takedown screw. The top of the barrel is marked with "44-SHOT" with the left side of the frame marked "J. STEVENS ARMS & TOOL CO CHICOPEE FALLS, MASS U.S.A." and the right marked "TRADE MARK STEVENS REGU.S. PAT. OFF & FGN". The shotgun shows good condition across the piece with some wear and rust due to age and use. Mechanically the gun shows working condition with a crisp trigger and smooth lever tip up action. The shotgun weighs 3lbs 6oz. Serial Number: N562.
