Featured in this lot we have a J Stevens Arms Co No. 44 Ideal Rifle model rolling block rifle chambered in .32-40 caliber. The rifle was manufactured in the early 1900's by the J. Stevens A & T Company. The rifle displays a 26" long round barrel with the back third showing octagonal design. The barrel shows a partial blue'd finish with the rolling block and hammer displaying a case hardened finish and the frame showing a warm patina. The top of the barrel is marked across the top reading "J. STEVENS A & T CO. CHICOPEE FALLS MASS. U.S.A. PAT. APR. 17. 94." with the side of the barrel marked "32.40". The tang of the rifle displays an adjustable aperture rear sight. Mechanically the rifle is in working condition with a smooth action and good trigger. he rifle shows good condition overall with minor wear due to age and handling. The rifle weighs 7lbs 8oz.
