Featured in this lot we have a James Beattie & Sons pinfire underlever single barrel shotgun chambered in 16 gauge. The shotgun was manufactured in the 1800's by James Beattie & Sons located in London England. This wonderful shotgun displays a 30" long round Damascus barrel, checkered hardwood stock, underlever release, pinfire hammer, and break action design. The frame, tang, and lock plate feature floral engravings. The top of the Damascus barrel is marked "JAMES BEATTIE & SON 205 REGENT STREET. LONDON." Mechanically the shotgun shows a crisp trigger, smooth underlever action, and wonderful hammer locking. The barrel shows a faded finish across the Damascus with case hardening on the trigger guard. This wonderful shotgun shows good condition overall with only minor wear due to age. The shotgun weighs 5lbs 8oz. Serial Number: 3671. This firearm qualifies as an Antique, and does not require FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
