The lot features a wonderful, fully engraved Colt Single Action Army Model 1873 revolver chambered in .41 caliber with factory carved Bull Head Pearl Grips and corresponding Colt Factory Letter noting them. This revolver was manufactured by Colt in 1890. The revolver displays a 4 3/4" long rounds barrel, six shot cylinder, Pearl stocks (grips) with Carved Bull Head, under barrel hand ejector, and etched exterior. The pearl grips feature a wonderful carved bull head motif across the right side of the grips, the letter notes it as “Type of Stocks: Pearl with Carved Bull Head motif” an incredibly rare addition. Likely engraved by Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co. where the gun was shipped from colt to Chicago, Illinois in 1891 in a shipment of 1. The exterior of the frame, barrel, cylinder, and tang show a wonderful hand carved etchings showing swirling floral and geometric designs. The top of the barrel is marked in faded lettering reading "COLT'S PT.F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A." with the left side of the barrel reading "41 COLT." The side of the frame is marked with "PAT SEPT. 19. 1871 JULY. 3. 72. JAN. 19. 75.". The frame, trigger guard, and grip display matching serial numbers. The revolver comes with a letter from Colt's manufacturing company with information on the pistol. The revolver shows wonderful condition for its age with some minor wear due to handling and light rust in areas. The pistol weighs 2lbs 8oz. Serial Number: 132173.
