The lot features a floppy head stone war club from the Jicarilla Apache of the Southern Plains dating to circa 1890-1940's from a fantastic Minnesota collection. The piece exhibits a carved solid wood handle with spoon carved corners and a dark coloring thread sewn with tanned hide floppy head top and fringed bottom. The top shwos a slender "tube" of tanned hide thread sewn and at the end a stone wrapped in tanned hide with a black painted circle and dot design. The hide shows more banded black painted designs. There is some stiffening of some hide, partial separation at the head with some repair, some thread loss and some patina. Measures overall 32-inches long and the stone head is approx. 3.25-inches by 2.5-inches by 2-inches.
