The lot features a Jukes Coulson & Co. marked rasp file dag knife with bone handle. The handle shows a solid bone and is attributed to a Great American Bison Buffalo bone and is secured to the tang with a single pin which is was then filled with pewter lead. The blade shows a beaver back or beaver tail shape and is made from a rasp or file which was then flattened out and given a double edge. The rasp or file cuts and teeth can be seen. The piece is stamped in the blade “JUKES COULSON & CO” and “U” on one side. The blade has a dark coloring with the exception of the marking having a worn area. The bone has a shiny and dark coloring. Please review pictures. Measures 14.5”L with a 7.5”L blade that is 2 5/8”W.
