Featured in this lot we have a hand knotted Persian Kazak wool runner rug originating from the 1930's. The rug displays a fine detailed design, bright colors, and a tight weave. Kazak style rugs are similar in design to Heriz rugs with a colorful and bright coloration. The rugs where traditionally woven by various tribes located near the Caucasus Mountains. This rug displays a floral border with geometric medallions across the center. The piece shows a red base with designs in black, blue, yellow, white, and dark blue. The rug originally was much longer but has been cut and reattached at the center. The piece shows a white fringe at each end. The piece shows good condition with little wear and use. The piece measures 100" long by 41 1/2" wide.
