For your consideration is this late 19th century La Reine mother of pearl opera glasses. "La Reine" was a French brand known for making high-quality opera glasses from the mid-to-late 1800s into the early 1900's. The glasses display a brass frame with beautiful mother of pear siding and eye pieces. The eye pieces are marked in black lettering, "La Reine Paris" showing it was made by La Reine in Paris, France. On the first brass support closest to the eye pieces, it is stamped reading, "France". Connected to the glasses is a long lorgnette handle adorned with mother of pearl. These opera glasses show very good condition despite their age and use over the years, with no signs of damage noted. The glasses measure 2 1/8" L x 6 1/2" W x 6" H and weigh 8 ounces.
