For your consideration is this Lakota Sioux Catlinite and pewter inlay pipe Lakota Sioux Native American Indians of the Northern Plains, dating to circa 1950-60s. The pipe is hand carved from pipestone catlinite showing a rich dark red coloring with speckling of pink. The pipe stem connection and bowl opening have thick pewter bullet lead poured inlay with two bar and triangle designs. The pipe has a traditional 19th Century "T" pattern showing a flat bottom rounded, tapering back with cylindrical tapering bowl, the end tapers to a diagonal angular cut tip. The front of the pipe shows high relief buffalo designs and the pipe is signed on the bottom showing a bird effigy and reads, "crow". The pipe shows good condition overall with glue present around the bowl / stem connection as it appears it was damaged at some point. No other cracks or damage is present. The pipe measures 10" L x 1 1/8" W x 5" H and weighs 1 pound and 8 ounces.
