Included in this lot is a Papago Native American, hand woven coil basket, originating from the mid 1900's. The Papago Tohono O'odham (People of the Desert) are located in Arizona and are known for their weaving skills. This basket displays a traditional hand woven coil design and was woven from yucca and natural fibers. The piece shows three geometric, swirling patterns, moving from the rim towards the center and dyed in two shades of purple. The piece shows a wonderful, tight weave with good, overall condition. The basket measures 5 1/4" tall with a diameter of 11 1/4".
