For your consideration is this pair of Montana Sphenodiscus Ammonite partial fossils on rock. The fossils come from Big Horn County in Montana. The first is a nearly complete Sphenodiscus Ammonite On Rock. It shows a beautiful bronze iridescence over most of the shell. Places where the iridescent surface has chipped away show the complex suture pattern associated with Sphenodisus Ammonites. The second fossil shows a small portion of a larger Sphendodiscus Ammonite with a lighter mother of pearl iridescence. Again, where small portions of the iridescent shell is chipped away, one can see some of the complex suture patterns for which Sphenodiscus Ammonites are known. Both pieces display nicely. The largest measures 6.5" x 4" x 3"
