Featured in this lot is this pair of salesman sampler rugs from Navajo artist Joann Johnson circa 20th century. There are two rugs in this collection one showing a classic Chinle Trading Post design and the other is a Crystal Eye Dazzler rug design. The first rug shows stepped medallion designs set in a symmetrical pattern with colors of dark brown, clay red, and white set to a very light brown field and solid light brown stripes at the head and feet of the rug. The next rug shows a stepped eye dazzler design with colors of white, maroon set to a heathered dark grey field with little light grey medallions throughout. The condition of this pair of salesman sampler rugs is well preserved with no obvious signs of damage and shows a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of this pair of rugs is 11 3/4" x 11 1/4" and 11 3/4" x 11 1/4".
