For your consideration is this Excellent Navajo Native American Klagetoh rug. Klagetoh is located just south of Ganado. Accordingly, Ganado and Klagetoh rugs incorporate the same or similar design elements, but the colors used are reversed from each other. The main difference is the use of red; while Ganado rugs are predominately red with gray, brown, black, cream, and beige used as highlights. Klagetoh rugs are predominately gray or beige and use red as a highlight. Both use black borders. This Klagetoh has excellent color, it features double stepped-diamond Medallions outlined in red on a white field. In the center of each beige diamond is a red cross, outlined by black. Two stepped crosses in red on the white field flank the center of the rug. Beige half diamonds mirror the two stepped diamonds in the center. Completing the Klagetoh rug is a full black border. This tightly woven rug is believed to date to the 1920's and is in beautiful condition, having only slight fraying in one corner. It measures 36 3/4" x 55".
