For your bidding pleasure is this circa early 1900's Eastern Anatolian Caucus Tribal Kilim. The region of Eastern Anatolia borders the Caucasian republics that recently gained independence from the now-defunct Soviet Union; it also abuts Iran, formerly known as Persia. The region has experienced, in addition to Turkish, Kurdish, Azeri, Armenian, Russian and Iranian influence to a greater or lesser degree, some of which is evident in the designs and coloring of weavings made here. This rug has ver intricate patterns to its weave; including crenulated borders ensconced squash blossom-like designs centered in the middle. The colors show fantastic contrast with oranges matched with reds set to a tan background; all alighted but blue and green accents with wave designs of chevrons bordering these geometric patterns. There is 2" fringe set on both sides of the rug. The overall measurements of this rug are 96" x 58".
