The lot features a vertical loom hand knotted wool rug in a very rare large Navajo Native American Indian Klagetoh Pattern style. The wonderful large size collectible floor covering shows the Klagetoh Pattern style design. Klagetoh is located just south of Ganado and 10 miles North of Wide Ruins trading posts. The English translation is “hidden springs”. The Klagetoh weaving is very similar to the Ganado rugs, but with a predominantly gray background instead of the Ganado’s red. The rug was hand woven by skilled weavers and shows bright natural style dyes in a traditional geometric Klagetoh Pattern. The rug is made in the style, manner and quality craftsmanship of Navajo Weavings, but not made by a Navajo Indian. The rug is hand knotted and shows fine condition. The piece shows a large size of 4 foot by 6 foot with an additional 5” long end tassel on each corner, typical of correct Navajo rugs. The amazing detail can clearly be seen and a Navajo Original of this fine of rug would be valued at over $10,000 and would be displayed on a wall as art, where-as this piece could truly be used in your home.
