For your consideration is this early Navajo Native American Indian wool trade rug from the ealry 1900's. The rug features a crenellated border of brown framing gray rectangles. Running through the cream colored field are irregular crenellated bands of brown and tan. The brown and tan crenellations frame solid portions of cream and gray alternately. This rug is believed to date to the early 1900's and shows its age in small areas where the warp threads can clearly be seen. Overall, this historic antique rug would display very well as a work of hand woven tapestry art. The unusual right angle designs and beautiful earth tones would compliment modern interior design nicely. The rug measures 42" x 84.5".
