For your bidding pleasure is this Navajo Old Pawn Red Mountain Turquoise Bracelet. The term Old Pawn refers to the jewelry pieces that the old Navajo would trade for credit at trading outposts. Native American Navajo had different needs than their white counterparts out in the wilds of the Old West, and traders would credit currency and trading goods for these pieces of jewlry. This bracelet was crafted sometime between the 40's and 50's. Showing good craftsmanship, this bracelet has a triangular silver frame with twisted bar between end clasps and the silver pendant centered between the two twisted bars. The pendant shows an unpolished Red Mountain turquoise stone set inside a twisted rope design bordered by a floral background design with a horseshoe shaped triangular silver bar beneath it. The measurements of this bracelet are 2 1/2" x 1 1/2".
