This is an original vintage sterling silver and Morenci turquoise squash blossom necklace from master silversmith couple, Navajo Native American Indians Leon and Marie Curley. The set, which comes with a certificate of authenticity and original receipt, and features a wonderful sand cast and polished squash naja at the base with a total of twenty blossom accents. Each blossom shows a three-petal flute which flows into a setting holding a polished gem quality turquoise cabochon from the Morenci Turquoise Mine and at the, two concho / concha beads. The necklace has a double strand of beautiful sterling silver concho button beads (approximately a total of over 200). The naja sqaush is marked "Sterling" and signed in marker, "Leon & Marie Curley". The clasp also has two rolled cones with one marked "Sterling LFK". The squash blossom necklace has an iconic and impressive design which displays well. Provenance: From the collection of Dr. David and Marsha Bowerly of Oregon. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Wind River Trading Company and the original receipt which states this as being an origanl Navajo Leon & Marie Curley of Four Corners, New Mexico. The piece sold to Marsha Bowerly for $879 in 1995 (a value of approximately $1,500 from inflation in today's dollar). The piece measures overall 27" long circumference with the naja squash being 2.75"x2.25".
